Fifteen students from five schools in the municipality receiving awards XXII Local Competition Driver Education and Accident Prevention

Fifteen students from five schools in the municipality have received this morning the prize for being the most knowledgeable of Road Safety Education and Accident Prevention in the municipality.

These youngsters have been awarded the Local Competition XXII Driver Education and Accident Prevention, which enrolled a total of 4,175 students from 51 schools in the municipality.

Councilmembers Maria Dolores Sánchez and Javier Iniesta have given the awards at a ceremony held in the Meeting Room of City Hall.

Winning students are:

-1 º prize.

Poet IES Sánchez Bautista (Llano de Brujas).

Sergio Burillo Marín, Andrés Cerezo Ruiz and Juan Fernández Gambín.

They have won three mopeds and trophies.

-2 º prize.

CES Fuensanta La Merced (Murcia).

Manuel Buitrago Ruiz, Teresa Moreno Alarcon and Pellicer Irene Espinosa.

They have received three bikes and trophies.

-3 ° prize.

Cipriano College Galea (La Nora).

María Galera Carlini, Antonio Merlos Fernández, José Antonio Romero Cano.

Wii has won three trophies.

-4 º prize.

Colegio San Buenaventura (Murcia).

Buitrago Jorge Muller, Pablo Sánchez Fernández and Javier Palacios Macián.

Have received three photographic equipment.

-5 º prize.

Colegio Monteagudo (Murcia).

Marcos Ruiz Fernández, Javier Albaladejo Díaz and Juan González Mínguez.

They have won three MP4.

Students who have participated in the contest 3 º ESO enrolled and have undergone several phases answering questionnaires such tests in their schools and in the offices of the local police in Murcia.

Students formed groups of three, the individual student score in the tests was added to the rest of team, winning teams have gained more points.

The first phase of the contest was held in schools during the months of March and April.

Each center was the winner a team of three students.

-20 51 centers were enrolled IES, 29 aided schools and secondary private school, with the participation of 4,175 students.

In the second phase had 148 teams, with 444 students.

In the last stage reached 66 students, part-22 teams, 16 schools in the municipality.

The aim of the competition for road safety, which this year celebrates its twenty-second edition, is to motivate students in learning and compliance with traffic rules, creating and reinforcing attitudes and habits of living, responsibility and caution in risk attitudes and danger.

At first relates to the conduct of bicycles and mopeds, to start, then, learning the rules, signs and advice on their driving and that one should not forget that young people in this stage are regular users of such vehicles.

The Department of Education and Youth and Traffic Safety and maintain that road safety education training is the best prevention for accidents.

Accidents in moped accidents has dropped significantly from previous years, the trend remains positive.
