UCAM is the first university in Spain in team sports

The Temple of the Monastery of Los Jeronimos has welcomed this morning the moving ceremony celebrating the Sports Gala XIII of the Universidad Católica San Antonio de Murcia (UCAM).

Notably, during the event, the volleyball player of UCAM Murcia, Sara Perez and badminton player, Sergio Llopis, have been elected the best athlete of the year for its impeccable sporting career.

In addition, the award has been sporting gesture for the women's team handball UCAM Murcia.

At the Gala intervened UCAM president, José Luis Mendoza, the dean's Degree in CAFD, Antonio Sánchez Pato, and the Director of Sports Activities Service of the University, Paul Rosique.

UCAM has recognized the work of all the athletes who have achieved great success in Internal Championships and University Championships in Spain, and have made it possible for UCAM has achieved the best results ever, and located another season , in honor of the medal positions nationwide.

During the Gala highlighted the 42 medals won by teams in the UCAM University Championships in Spain, eight more than in the past championships, and of which 19 were gold, which has enabled the University to overcome their own record.

Similarly, during the event also highlighted the fact that five of these medals have been achieved in team sports, which places the UCAM as the country's foremost university in this category.

At the Gala was also recalled the success of the Regatta UCAM Inter-universities, and university teams in the Autonomous University Sport Championship.

With respect to the prizes awarded by the Sports Press Association, the University stated at the ceremony that the award for Best Sponsor of 2010 has been for the UCAM.

San Antonio Catholic University wanted to pay, this XIII Sports Gala, an emotional tribute to UCAM Athlé Cieza, on its 30th anniversary.

In addition, the University has awarded a special mention Basketball Club Murcia for its many victories.
