International University Campus Mar-Mare Nostrum: courses for all tastes and all ages (24/05/2011)

Polytechnic University of Murcia and Cartagena this year joined forces in the development of the summer courses, which are presented in the context of the International Campus of Mare Nostrum, an initiative led by both universities.

A total of 98 courses are offered in this edition of the International University Campus Mar-Mare Nostrum.

For younger

The new draft of the Sea International University continues on the path to extend to all public activities.

Younger guests can access the Science Camp III, this time entitled "Chemistry: our life, our future," and the Second Summer School of the Faculty of Computer Science, developed with success last year.

Also be held this year for the first time, the meeting with the Science and Technology in UPCT, and Summer Science Campus Mare Nostrum, in Murcia.

This is a project sponsored by the Spanish Foundation for Science and Technology (FECYT) and the Ministry of Education in an attempt to enhance the interest of the seniors of the ESO and eleventh grade.

The 60 students that course on our campus may start to engage in research at the university.

Similar activities will take place in 19 other Campus of Excellence in Spain.

On the other hand, expanded professional conferences on various topics, which also respond to the desire to reach all audiences, beyond the purely academic.

Courses for everyone

The courses in this edition include knowledge areas as diverse as social sciences and legal, economic, health, experimental sciences, engineering and new technologies, architecture, fine arts, humanities, sports ... as well as current issues in our society.

Almost half of them are new, while others are offered year after year with great success of participation.

Among them, the most classic is the scientific diving and the art and science of navigation held in Cartagena, which XXVIII and XIX editions are a true hallmark of the Sea International University

There are hundreds of courses and tens of thousands of students who have gone through the 27 editions held by the Universidad Internacional del Mar and 12 editions of Summer Courses UPCT.

Will be a total of 98 courses, to be held in 20 municipalities in Murcia and in Sant Antoni de Portmany (Ibiza), between 23 May and 22 September, with the usual parentheses August.

The town of Cartagena, with 43 courses are presented as the municipality with the highest number of courses dedicated to issues such as defense, engineering, geological heritage, pollution, environment, gardening, museum architecture, new technology, aquaculture, international security, astronomy or mental health, gender, major, and literature.

Eagles followed with ten courses devoted to topics such as restorative medicine, criminal justice, nuclear physics, rhetoric, pedagogy, music or sports law.

Murcia followed with nine courses that address topics such as Community Manager, neurodegenerative diseases or geothermal power, and the action on the Three Cultures, which this time will deal with the Mediterranean identity, which is the activity that will the beginning of the summer courses, on 23 May.

San Javier hosts a total of five courses, including one high-performance basketball, other research and resources of the Mar Menor and the other on leadership and communication.

In the towns of Lorca Cieza and three courses will be held in each, in the first on issues related to musical practice renewable energy and energy efficiency, while Lorca will be starring in the social economy in the health and welfare grounds, early intervention and measures for the recovery of the crisis.

Alhama hosts courses on hot springs and rural development, the General Air Academy organizes a course on military culture and culture aircraft and one on defense, White on drug and contemporary art and curating.

Caravaca de la Cruz in the protagonists will be the ruling in the European countries and the restoration and management; in the EU, flamenco dancing and singing miners, while the Alcazares will talk about exercise in the elderly and rehabilitative care in the least.

Molina de Segura are announced two courses on healthy aging and psychiatry in everyday life.

St. Antony de Portmany, Ibiza hosts a course on underwater archeology and other marine pollution, Torre Pacheco on drug and Environmental Reproductive Health, and Yecla a tribute to Castillo-Puche which discuss children's literature and the other on regional police.

Finally, five locations will host one course each: entrepreneurs in rural areas in Abarán public policies and gender in Cehegín; Eating disorders in children and adolescents in Las Torres de Cotillas; scientific Days 50 + years in Puerto Lumbreras and accounting and corporate tax in San Pedro del Pinatar.
