Students and faculty of Fine Arts and Biology from the University of Murcia recently participated in the "Aris Global Game Jam", an initiative promoted by U.S. universities in the form of interactive game development.
The University of Murcia was the only European invited to this event, in which hundreds of people from different countries created Aris games using software, which lets you create stories based on the geolocation of the user.
The team from the University of Murcia, with the support of the Department of Information Technology and Applied Communication (Attica), proposed a project in which players aim with an iPhone a number of seeds in three Espinardo campus gardens.
Through an avatar of French botanist Gaston Bonnier, telling them how to find and where to plant seeds, players have to recognize with a pocket microscope plants belonging to each seed.
Besides the project of the University of Murcia, there were others such as development from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, creative institution of the ARIS platform.
