The Community reinforces socio attention to children with legal action under detention at the center of The Mulberry (10/05/2011)

The Ministry of Justice and Public Safety, strengthens the network of resources for the implementation of legal measures in detention imposed on young people aged 14 to 23 years, admitted to the school of 'The Mulberry', El Palmar (Murcia) and their socio-educational intervention to facilitate the process of socialization of the young and provide it with skills and abilities to minimize the risk of relapse into criminal acts.

Thus, the Minister Manuel Campos and empowered Diagram Foundation Psychosocial Intervention Pagán Trinidad, signed today an agreement worth 3,523,247 euros for the development and monitoring of court decisions in closed, semi open, therapeutic and retention weekend in the middle.

The center of 'The Mulberry', opened in 2001, consists of three separate units with their own patios and in which different areas can be differentiated to serve young people at its facilities, such as an observation area, another children in detention in open and semi-open and a young adults in a closed regime.

'The Mulberry', which can reach to accommodate a total of 46 youths aged 16 to 22 years and of mixed character, has a gym, three football pitches, basketball and volleyball courts, classrooms, workshop, patio, dining room, bedrooms and lounges, among others.
