Eight artists in the Region of Murcia have participated in the creation of a mural discovered in the School of Tourism at the University of Murcia and serves as a posthumous tribute to the Regional Wave journalist Mariano Velazquez, who died a few months ago.
These are the painters Buendía Martínez, Manuel Coronado, Pilar Martínez, Alvaro Peña, Mónica Rubio, José Semitiel, Antonio Tapia and Silvia Viñao.
The discovery of the mural, which the authors reflected their particular vision of the professional radio, coincided with the presentation of the journalism award bearing his name and will be granted annually to the best work on issues related to culture and traditions Murcia.
The prize is a bronze sculpture by artist Manuel Coronado Eagles, one of the participants in the mural.
The act of the School of Tourism was also a panel discussion that took part, along with the widow, Pilar Balsalobre, proponents of tribute, and Ana Martín Pascual Vera and the Vice President for Communication, Maria Angeles Esteban, and technical director of the center, Amador López.
Among the attendees was the Popular Party councilor of the Municipality of Murcia, Rafael Gomez.
