Pedro López Murcia commitment to a barrier-free (05/04/2011)

The PSOE candidate for Mayor of Murcia, Pedro López, met this morning with representatives of the Spanish Committee of Representatives of People with Disabilities in the Region of Murcia (CERMI) led by its chairman, Joaquín Barberá and the German general secretary Moya, accompanied by members of his candidacy this morning at the headquarters of the Provincial Delegation of the ONCE to see first hand the status of associations working with disabled and gather proposals for incorporation into the PSOE's electoral program for the next election .

The meeting was also attended representatives have FEAPS Fundown, ASPACE, ONCE, and ACIME FEAFES.

Lee noted that this meeting is within the framework of meetings that the PSOE is holding with different groups to present the strategic plan Murcia 100% for the municipality and enrich it with their initiatives.

The socialist candidate has expressed their sympathy with people who suffer any type of disability and is committed to them to be a staunch ally whatever the outcome of the elections in May.

"Murcia has to be an accessible city, a city for all citizens without barriers for anyone," said the Socialist candidate who added that "people with disabilities are 10% of the population."

Thus, Pedro López believes that proposals to enhance the employability of disabled people by reserving a share of public town hall are "logical, reasonable and above all fair."

In addition, the socialist candidate has expressed its commitment to join the municipal management permanently because they are the ones who know their problems.

Thus, Lee suggests the creation of a Municipal Council for Persons with Disabilities is a meeting between the City and related organizations in this sector.

Another major points of the meeting was the removal of architectural barriers not only in the streets, homes, businesses and public buildings but also in new technology since, as we have moved the Socialist candidate, each time a person is relegated to the advances of technology becomes a bit more illiterate.
