San Antonio Catholic University (UCAM) was the scene yesterday of a massive conference entitled `The early attention from an educational perspective 'by the psychologist, Murcia, Department Coordinator for Assistance to the Diversity of Ministry of Education, Early Childhood Science Advisory in Fundown, Down Scientific Spain, and member of the Early Warning Service, the Region, Isidoro Candel.
The activity formed part of the program of training activities of the Department of Psychology, UCAM, for teachers and students in Grades of Psychology, Early Childhood Education and Primary Education.
Isidoro Candel said during his speech that "early childhood intervention is essentially the combination of a number of services aimed at children with disabilities, developmental problems, or at high risk, which also include protocols for support and assistance to the families. "
The psychologist said that these services range from special institutions for children, and specific treatment of early stimulation, physical therapy, speech therapy, and family training, to a variety of specialized services.
Candel also insisted on the importance of early detection of disorders associated with child development as a step essential for accurate diagnosis and design rule after therapeutic treatment protocols most appropriate to effectively combat the problem.
"The earlier the detection, greater assurance of preventing diseases we added, to achieve functional improvement and enable a more adaptive fit between the child and his environment."
Professor Candel said also that the diagnosis of early childhood intervention, there are three types of diagnoses: Functional; Syndrome; and Etiological, to consider that its implementation should be entrusted to experts in various fields and disciplines, and that they must consider the biological, psychological, social and education related to the patient, when making them.
