Twelve young people acquire basic education and cooking skills and hotel waiters
The Department of Education of the City of Murcia has launched the second class municipality occupational prevention and control truancy.
-8 Twelve young boys and 4 girls, are participating in this project being developed at the Centre for Employment Initiatives municipality of El Palmar and the IES El Palmar.
The Councillor for Education, María Dolores Sánchez, visited the classroom with the Head Occupational Care Service Diversity in the Autonomous Community, Juan Navarro, and the director of the IES of El Palmar, José de Luna.
Students who are part of basic training of occupational class and participate in workshops on kitchen and waiters in hotel.
These young people have a strong rejection of academic, curricular very low level, are in a situation of lack of schooling or dropping out of school early, have a disadvantaged family situation have not achieved the objectives of secondary education, the level of absenteeism is high and present difficulties in the process of socialization.
To improve their education and their integration into society are carried out such initiatives, which give positive results in young people.
The occupational class of El Palmar began in November 2010 and will last one academic year.
The rate of absenteeism among students has been declining and do you track daily attendance, weekly meetings with families, mentoring and motivation to young attractive and practical activities for students.
The aim is that these students continue their training.
The first occupation of this class was launched in the IES José Espinardo Plans for the 2009/2010 academic year, with the participation of eleven students.
