President of the Criminal Division of the National Court participates in the Congressional Human Rights at the University of Murcia (22/03/2011)

Javier Gómez Bermúdez, president of the Criminal Division of the High Court, will speak on Thursday March 24 at the V International Congress on Human Rights Litigation, held today in the auditorium of the University of Murcia.

The Congress, which is led by professors from the University of Murcia Fernando Jiménez and José Luis Conde Mirete, has opened the lecture by a professor at the University of Alcalá de Henares Virgilio Zapatero, who was Minister of Relations with Parliament and rector of the university in Madrid.

Also today, as speakers intervene emeritus Cardinal of Seville, Carlos Amigo, who will speak on human rights in a globalized world, and Professor of the Universidad Autonoma de Madrid Alfonso Ruiz Miguel.

The conference devoted to human rights is supplemented by the papers of Elias Diaz, who was director of the Center for Political and Constitutional Studies, Bishop Marcelo Sánchez, president of the Pontifical Academy of Social Sciences at the Vatican, Thomas Gil, a professor at the Technical University Berlin, Oreste Massari, a professor at the University "La Sapienza" of Rome, and by José Luis Mirete.

The slope of Procedural Law will be covered with said Gómez Bermúdez, who will deliver a lecture on the processes of human rights and terrorism, and professors Litigation Faustino Cordón, Fernando Jimenez Teresa Armenta and Conde, who will speak on Thursday.

The opening ceremony was presided by the rector of the University of Murcia, José Antonio Cobacho, and the mayor of Murcia, Miguel Angel House, which highlighted the high level of the speakers at a conference which brought together lawyers, philosophers, theologians and political scientists to discuss about various aspects of human rights.

At the opening ceremony was attended by the President of the Tribunal Superior de Justicia de Murcia, Juan Martínez Moya, the Minister of Justice and Public Safety in the Region, Manuel Campos, and the Dean of the Faculty of Law, Faustino Cava, who agreed on the projection and international importance of the congress.
