Tourism launches four guided tours of Murcia for iPhone and Android phones (22/03/2011)

The Department of Tourism will launch an innovative pioneer in the region, so that tourists can make guided tours via mobile Murcia iPhone and Android.

The visitor will have four routes to choose from: 'Full time', 'Media Day', 'Shopping in Murcia' and 'Squares, rods and caps. "

Tourists can change routes at will.

The Iphone Blueguia system will guide visitors to attractions on each route and when arriving at the GPS detects where the visitor and is automatically activated a video explaining the site with pictures and sound.

As indicated by the Councillor of Tourism, Maria Isabel Valcárcel, "the aim is to suggest to the visitor the direction to follow and provide useful information for you to enjoy the city.

Visitors will learn historical data, characteristics of streets and squares, data on culture and festivals, gastronomy, heritage, folklore and environment. "

Be charged more than 100 different videos and the system provides more complete tourist guide of the city.

Owners of iPhone and Android phones may download the application Bluguia free on the website of the Department of Tourism from anywhere in the world.

The four routes are offered in Spanish, English, French, German and sign language.

The IES Ramón y Cajal de Murcia works freely in the recording of sign language videos, which translated professionals Federation of the Deaf in the Region of Murcia (Fesormu).

The company developing this project, called 'Murcia GPS' is Navegamurcia, in collaboration with the Department of Tourism.
