More than 150 young people from the diocese of Cartagena participate in the Diocesan Encuentro Fuensanta (14/03/2011)

The nice weather and sunny day in Fuensanta encouraged over 150 young people from different nations, convened by the Bishop of Cartagena, starting the first Sunday of Lent with a retreat.

From early in the morning, attendees gathered at the convent of the Discalced Carmelites to live in a desert Algezares in spirit.

The day began with a prayer that gave way to the Monseigneur meditation Lorca Planes.

In his speeches, he referred to the hymn of St. John of the Cross: "For I know the mana and runs fonte."

Before the assembly of young people, the bishop, comparing the words of the Holy, said, "Every one of us at night, but God is turning lights to guide us.

The tool to see those lights is nothing but faith. "

Moreover, the prelate explained the passage of the disciples of Emmaus applied to everyday life of Christians.

"There are moments in our life that seems to have been released ... is actually when Jesus comes to meet."

"The important thing is to seek freedom, true love.

The world offers us many things, but the Christian is to keep looking, because nothing human quench our thirst, "said Lorca Planes.

Following the gospel of Emmaus, the pastor of the diocese argued that "the disciples knew him first hand, but when he came before them did not recognize him.

Happens to us something.

We know Jesus, and yet we do not know when we see it before ... must be he who opens our eyes. "

Monsignor José Manuel Lorca, addressing the youth, said, "Jesus knows what each one carries inside, is the best proof to know that you are not alone."

In addition, during meditation, the bishop said that "faith is not based on mere legend, but it existed.

The proof of this are the first witnesses of faith. "

He also took the opportunity to encourage attendees to participate in World Youth Day.

"Not only do we have to prepare the outside of the meeting, but our inner life to live."

The withdrawal was completed by referring back to San Juan de la Cruz: "The source is written in our hearts.

It is not hard to find, it is the Love. "

A retreat that has borne fruit in some of the young participants.

For example, Juan Manuel Zapata, a young mule, "the meditations have made me think about the meaning that I give my life."

"I was with a phrase that touched my heart: Jesus Christ does not expire, is forever."

Another youth who lived retirement, Archena Antonio Rodriguez, told the editorial that "the retreat helped me to discover that prayer and the Eucharist should be a constant in my life to know the mission that God has for me" .

After the meditations, the Delegate of PastoralJuvenil, Verdú Manuel presided at the Eucharist at the image of the moraine.

The day ended between games and songs.
