The Faculty of Communication and Information Studies, University of Murcia held today, March 9, at 20:30, the closing of the First Conference of Gender Equality, led by the president of the Journalists Association and professor of educational institution Juan Tomás Frutos.
From 17:30 pm will present the lecture of journalist Lola Abellán García, who will speak on the role of public women, and Inmaculada Martínez, Faculty of Communication, which will address the topic of women and mobile communication in the information society.
Finally, María Dolores Ayuso, also professor of that faculty, presented his paper on the presence and absence of women in the information society.
Also, today will begin at 18:30 pm in the Lecture Hall of the Merced, and parallel to the conference, the "film series with a gender perspective, with the screening of the film" Secrets and Lies. "
The series continues tomorrow, day 10, the miso place, with the viewing, at 19:00 hours, the film "North Country."
During the conference themes have been exhibited as "The importance of media to achieve real equality" and "Gender equality in the media."
The first session concluded with a panel discussion which dealt with equality, gender violence and issues related to women in the media in the region.
The conference is organized by the Equality Unit at the University of Murcia, who heads the teacher embodies Serna.
