The mayor delivers awards Drawing Competition on Urban Mobility to students at several schools (03/03/2011)

Murcia is among the most valuable three European cities for the Mobility Week Award 2010.

The winners, whose work has made a calendar, belong to the CEIP Nuestra Señora de La Paz, Fleet and Caroline C.

Students will, through the collaboration of IKEA and Decathlon, bicycles, lots of paint and easels.

The Mayor, Miguel Ángel Cámara, delivered this morning awards Drawing Contest II bicycle, led to all the town school and Primary Education was convened on the occasion of the European Mobility Week, whose motto was Central Mobility, Health and Safety Move with intelligence and live better.

The jury took into account in relation to the educational level of participants, creativity, artistic quality, the complexity of the technique used and translating graphical theme of the contest.

The contest was one of the initiatives developed during the European Mobility Week, held in Murcia last September.

The first prize in the Education category of children has fallen on Juan José Fernández, the College of Our Lady of La Paz.

The second was to Yasmica Belcai, and the third for Joseph Utreras.

In the category of First Cycle Primary students have been awarded Asmal, Isidro Galindo and José Ruano.

In Second Primary Cycle, Clara Díaz, Julián Fernández and José Utreras.

And third cycle Elementary, Julian Fernandez and Maria Jesus Canovas.

All are students of the College of Our Lady of La Paz, Fleet and Caroline C.

Another success

The City of Murcia, through Germany, the Local Agency for Energy and Climate Change, organized by the European Mobility Week in the City of Murcia.

Murcia has a long tradition in the organization of the Town Without My Car!, Welcoming in the past two years a whole week of awareness and sensitization activities through an extensive program dedicated to sustainable mobility.

Thanks to the participation and collaboration of all we achieved the top ranking in the Week Award for Mobility in Spain, Murcia was placed as one of 10 finalist cities for the European City of mobility among more than 2,221 participating cities.

Thus, Murcia is among the three cities that have received a higher score, along with Almada, Portugal, and Riga, Latvia, to qualify for the award of European Mobility Week 2010, SEM 2010 / European Mobility Week , EMW 2010.

The winning city will be announced on March 14.
