The UCAM World Congress held in honor of Benedict XVI (25/02/2011)

San Antonio Catholic University of Murcia (UCAM) held from 26 to 30 October, a University World Conference in tribute to the figure of His Holiness Pope Benedict XVI, marking the 60th anniversary of his ordination.

The event, chaired by the Prefect of the Congregation for Divine Worship and the Discipline of the Sacraments, Cardinal Antonio Cañizares, title will be entitled "Benedict XVI: A Pope for the Third Millennium.

From the UCAM is stressed that the Vatican has recently announced its approval for the institution to carry out this international event.

It is recalled that the San Antonio Catholic University hosted during the spring of 2010 a massive conference in tribute to the late Pope John Paul II, whose beatification will take place in Rome next May, at the hands of His Holiness Pope Benedict XVI.

To mark that event, attended by many cardinals, bishops and experts in the figure of the Pope, the famous sculptor carved Venancio Blanco in Salamanca a bronze statue depicting the figure of the Polish Pope and has since occupied a prominent place on campus of Jeronimos.

For Congress next October, White made a sculpture of the present Pope, Benedict XVI, to be installed, like its predecessor, on the campus.

The University is working hard in preparation for this event with the participation of church authorities and experts of world-class in the figure and thought of Pope Benedict XVI.
