New project for 40 people to form and find jobs (25/02/2011)

Students have a contract of practice and studying the specialties of geriatric care, kitchen, air conditioning, installation of renewable energy equipment and microcomputer systems technician

Murcia City Council has launched Cofrisol Employment Workshop VI to 40 students learn a trade and bring it to practice.

Councilmember Employment, Beatriz Hontoria, visited the Centre for Employment Initiatives of El Palmar, where students receive their training.

Students specialize in geriatric care, kitchen, air conditioning, installation of renewable energy equipment and technicians in microcomputer systems.

The project has a duration of 1 year divided into 2 phases of 6 months each.

Students began classes on December 22 and have been hired since the beginning of the project through a training contract, receiving 1.5 the minimum wage.

Workshop projects are joint programs Job training and employment which aims to provide employability pathways for unemployed aged 25 or older.

In addition, students according to their specialty, react to dependent people in institutions; made assembly installation and maintenance of microcomputer systems in municipal buildings, with daily menus for residents of the Foundation Board of Trustees of Jesus Forsaken, and assembly, installation, maintenance and repair thermal and photovoltaic installations in the CFIE 'El Palmar', as well as sports facilities.

In addition to specific training, get knowledge on prevention of occupational hazards search resources and employment improvement, social economy, computer literacy, basic education, gender equality and environmental awareness.

Of the 40 students, 32 are women and 8 men in age, ranging between 25 and 53 years living in 16 districts of Murcia and the rest in villages.

Cofrisol VI is a project promoted by the city of Murcia and financed with the Employment and Training Service of the Murcia Region through the European Social Fund.

The total project budget is € 1,164,062.40.
