"Every day 1500 mothers die worldwide from preventable causes before or during childbirth" (24/02/2011)

"The risk of dying before or during birth, a mother suffering in Africa is 1 to 13 tools for example, Canada is 1 to 7300. It means that every day 1500 mothers die from preventable causes worldwide ".

This forceful has shown this afternoon at the UCAM the president of the International Federation of Catholic Medical Associations (FIAMC), Jose Maria Simon Castellvi, in relation to the situation facing women in the third world with respect to the protection of life.

The conference has been focused on the X International Conference on Charities and Volunteers this year are about "Europe, youth and solidarity."

Under the title 'The value of human life', Simon Castellvi has stressed the importance of the theme of charity and volunteerism in protecting human life.

"Catholic doctors are trying to have a great plan-pact in favor of motherhood, and this can not be done without volunteers," he asserted the speaker.

FIAMC President launched the question of how to protect motherhood in Third World countries, and stressed that there are many many mothers and their unborn children who suffer discrimination.

"Too many mothers in the third world do not have a place to give birth", he asserted the speaker, who has highlighted the fact that abortion facilities in less developed countries have been increasing while the aid has been scarce.

In addition, Simon Castellvi recalled the words of Pope Benedict XVI said that "even in a society where the welfare state can ensure more attention to people, always miss a plus which is charity and love."
