IU-Greens requests the establishment of a municipal council of culture (23/02/2011)

Councillor of the United Left-Greens in the city of Murcia, Esther Herguedas, has filed a motion in Parliament tomorrow to request the creation of a board culture sector in collaboration with various social organizations.

Herguedas stressed the need for this instrument to facilitate the involvement of society in actions that impact on the cultural policy of the municipality and thus boost the "advancement and social progress."

According to the mayor, the board must accommodate groups, cultural associations and citizens, people related to the intellectual, foundations, universities, private organizations, professional associations and cultural managers, among others.

He has also requested in its initiative to promote transparency in the management culture through a policy of public information and advertising in all cultural performances running in Murcia.
