The new immigration rules foster coexistence and especially protect children and battered women

The government delegate in the Region of Murcia, Rafael González Tovar, opened the First Conference Intercultural Secondary School El Carmen, in Murcia, which also attended the consuls of Ecuador and Mexico.

Tovar González pointed out that these early days "will provide an important impetus to further configure a model of intercultural relations, where the educational community is enriched increasingly personal and cultural contributions of its members and their countries of origin."

The delegate stressed that the phenomenon of immigration is deeply enriching, from the standpoint of social, human and cultural, also generates wealth for our country and our region, in which 207,339 legal immigrants live.

That is why - he added - "the management of immigration must be integral, where the effort of all the authorities go in the direction of promoting a more intercultural society."

In this sense, González Tovar has argued that it is also necessary to arrange the most migration flows and make continued efforts by all institutions, and society as a whole, integration, both in relation to employment policies and in policies education, health, housing and social services.

It has also shown that conferences of this type are able to configure a way to relate, to live, to form going forward, "from positions of respect for human rights and the Spanish Constitution, where solidarity, respect for the other, integration of differences in cultural values, justice, and the value of personal and collective effort are values that go deeper into our daily activity, moving at the same time, the society of which we are part.

New regulation

Moreover, the delegate of the Government has defended the new immigration rules "is based on the culture of regularity and connected to the labor market, perfect the management mechanisms provided and puts the emphasis on integration and strengthening social cohesion, trying at all times to promote coexistence. "

In addition, these regulations, in the final stages of negotiation with the social partners and the most representative NGOs, also regulates better the situation of unaccompanied minors and special protection for women who report abuse are gender and irregular, as they will entitled to a temporary residence permit and work, while there is a court ruling.

Also, dependent children have a residence permit.
