Contest jokes and more prizes in the Carnival of Cabezo de Torres (18/02/2011)

Thirty-eight groups with 950 people march in the town crowded Carnival

Cabezo of Torres is preparing to live their big day with the celebration of the Carnival of the hamlet, to be held from 26 February to 12 March.

Councilman Festivals and Popular Culture, Rafael Gomez, said that "Carnival is the city of Murcia, attended by many residents of neighborhoods and districts."

Among the novelties of this edition is the change in route of the parades, to make them more colorful.

The procession will leave the Health Center, pass by the church, avenue de Murcia and end in the Garden of the Constitution.

After each show there will be dancing in the carnival grounds, located in the school Jose Rubio Gomariz.

Another novelty this year is the celebration of First Chirigotas Contest, to be held on March 10, at 21 pm in the Auditorium of the hamlet, with the participation of Beniaján jokes, Cabeza de Torres and Aledo .

Also, be granted for the first time the prize Mislán, after the neighbor Cabezo Pepe Torres 'El Mislán', who died dramatically in 1982 when he set fire to clothing while wearing carnival parade.

The hamlet of Cabezo Torres wanted to pay homage to the carnival with this award that bears his name.

The awards will be presented March 11 at 21 pm in the Auditorium.

Thirty-eight groups of Mardi Gras this year, three new-formed for a total of 950 people paraded through the streets of Cabezo Torres day 4 (children's parade of schools in the parish), 6, 7, 8 and March 12.

On Saturday, February 26, at 21 pm, dinner will be choosing the Carnival Musa.

On Monday February 28 will be officially presented to the Muse.

On Saturday March 5th there will be a bullfight, at 1630 hours, and subsequently of the opening gala of the Carnival, at 21 pm in the Auditorium of Cabezo de Torres.

The proclamation is provided by Patricio Valverde, CEO of Estrella de Levante, and the Mask 2011 is for Rabadán Trini Rubio, a seamstress who has always worked in the carnival.

The events continue on Sunday, March 6, with piñata games for children, at 12 noon in the Garden of the Constitution.

The poster of the Carnival is dedicated this year to Pepe 'El Mislán' and was performed by Cristina Franco, a young painter Cabezo natural de Torres, who wanted to capture the colors of the holidays.
