Public Works has funded the drafting of the project within the activities of awareness and promotion of heritage landscape of the Region

The Director General of Planning and Housing, Antonio Navarro, accompanied by the Councillor for the Environment and Urban Quality of the City of Murcia, Adela Martinez-Cacho, today announced the proposed creation of a network of viewpoints aimed at enhancing the natural values of the municipality Murcia.

"The new viewpoints will be located in strategic areas where you can admire the main sights of the city and the values of the traditional landscape of the municipality, due to its location, it is mostly the region of La Huerta de Murcia, coexisting contrast with the capital city, "said Navarro.

"The main objective of this initiative," he continued, "is promoting the creation of a nature trail through a series of viewpoints established in places with spectacular views, where people can spend their leisure time to appreciate the characteristic features of the type of landscape Murcia. "

The project includes the selection, suitability and proposed interpretive signage in a series of strategic sites that let you view the scenery of the vegetable gardens and orchards and around the capital.

It has also carried out a compilation and analysis of existing natural scenarios and the definition of the tasks of preparation of new viewpoints.

"This action is part of the initiatives developed by the regional government aimed at the dissemination and enhancement of landscape scenarios of the regional territory, which constitute the natural heritage of the Community and as part of Murcia identity," said the head autonomy.

The Ministry of Public Works and Planning has funded 75 percent of the drafting of a total of 13,137 euros in aid for actions to raise awareness and promote the heritage landscape of the Region granted in 2009 to various institutions non-profit organizations and municipalities for the preparation of studies, projects and execution of works of appreciation of the countryside.
