Ten arrested for simulation of crimes to the police during the month of January (08/02/2011)

Groups Judicial Police of the Commissioners of the National Police of the Districts of El Carmen and San Andres have been carried out ten performances by simulation of crime that have taken place in the city of Murcia between 4 January and 3 February this year.

Such actions have led to the arrest of persons who have made those fraudulent claims, which in most cases were intended to generate an administrative document as a basis for false claim to insurance companies.

The simulation of crime is covered by the Spanish Penal Code as a crime against the Administration of Justice, whose commission carries a fine of six to twelve months, together with the generation of a criminal record.

In many cases, these simulations are intended to claim against insurance companies is also criminal action, although in the second act, the applicable criminal offense would be a misdemeanor or crime of fraud, depending on the amount defrauded.

Casuistry is diverse, although in most cases is to report a violent robbery where there was a simple theft or loss of effect.

Twice he has reported the theft of a vehicle after having collided with another in public.

Nine of these facts have been clarified by researchers at the District Police of El Carmen, while the latter case has been dealt with by their counterparts in the Police District of San Andrés.

This type of fraudulent claims are a major distraction of police, who investigate suspected of engaging in violent robberies or other infractions, usually serious, never took place.

Once police reports submitted to the judicial authority may involve the practice of other measures equally useless by the lack of veracity of the facts.

It is for this reason it is considered that these actions undermine the proper use and operation of the mechanisms that the administration of justice, and the police as collaborators with it, made available to the public.
