Murcia University hosted the plenary meeting of the Conference of Deans and University Centers of Translation and Interpretation (CCDUTI), in which more than forty representatives of Spanish universities discussed the present and future of the training of translators and interpreters and their prospects of employability.
The measures taken by the universities for future accreditation of postgraduate degrees and was one of the points discussed at the meeting of the CCDUTI, which also discussed the criteria for the various sites for admission to doctoral and validation rules for credit work experience.
During the meeting it was announced that the forthcoming White Paper on Institutional Translation and Interpreting in Spain, which is intended to regulate the professional status of translators and interpreters at the institutional level.
Upon completion, the Department of Translation and Interpretation at the University of Murcia took over the Presidency of the CCDUTI for next year.
