PSOE: "Education is not a priority for the government of La Glorieta" (06/02/2011)

The socialist council says Lola Abellon show the degree of importance that the PP gives to education in the municipality is that the budget of the education service, together with that of school children, does not reach the 13 million euros of a total 417 million, representing 2.95 percent

The PSOE mayor Abellon Lola complains that the school places from 0 to 3 years in public kindergartens in the municipality will continue another year with no increase and, therefore, Murcia families have more difficulty in reconciling work and family life or to proceed with job search.

According Abellon, this is due to the resignation of the PP policy over these years to go for public education in this age range to promote employment and conciliation.

Last year, "recalls the socialist council the City had the opportunity of investing in future educational policies (design of a network of public childcare facilities and implementing a security plan and improvements to schools), through savings which resulted in its budget over 5 million euros of social expenditure from the Local Fund, which were designed to clean schools, heating oil, maintenance windows, shutters and alarms and even pruning and plant protection services Woodland centers.

Also in 2010 virtually all actions were carried out in the park public schools continues Abellon were in charge of this much criticized by the Popular Party, Plan E of the Government of Spain, which the City would charge, assuming all major savings for the municipal coffers.

However, after analyzing the budget for education, the socialist mayor said that "nothing will change and nothing will improve in the education policies of the municipality, as the amounts allocated to educational and other programs does not vary with last year" .

The demonstration of the priority that the PP gives to education in the municipality is that the education service budget, along with the Children's School, does not reach the 13 million euros from a total of 417 million, representing 2.95% of total.

"With these data reflect only failure," concludes Abellon.
