Pedro López committed to the recovery of degraded buildings and dynamism of the traditional trade in the city (04/02/2011)

The socialist candidate for mayor of Murcia, Pedro López, has made a firm commitment this morning by the traditional trade in the city of Murcia which in his opinion has been battered by the policies of support for large shopping centers that has encouraged the Party People and degradation suffered the heart of the city with the passivity of the City.

Pedro Lopez, the consequences of this policy of major projects has especially hurt small businesses, the market hall and outdoor markets that are more than places to buy because you have to understand them as spaces linked to the evolution and identity of a city where social relationships are fostered.

Given this situation, the Socialist candidate for mayor of Murcia announced that the PSOE presented its electoral program measures to strengthen the commercial fabric of our town, not only in the center of the city but also in neighborhoods and districts to be developed taking into account input from the traders themselves.

For Lopez, the City is responsible for leading the economic recovery in the municipality of Murcia and in this area is vital to support small businesses with lines of support to improve the shopping streets.

In addition, committed to developing initiatives to specialization and diversification of traditional trade (shops, places of supplies and markets) to be competitive with the major centers policy implemented by the PP.

Among these measures, Pedro López believes will play an important role in the recovery of degraded buildings, with small urban acupuncture actions which accompany the regeneration of the city will combine shopping and leisure.

Thus, the socialist candidate explained that the rehabilitation of abandoned buildings will generate an inward growth in the city and improve the conditions for doing traditional business activity from the streets of Murcia a more attractive place to establish small businesses.
