The groups participating in the board to consider amending the Ordinance of street cleaning have a week to offer their suggestions (01/02/2011)

The Security council and Circulation, Nuria Fuentes, held this morning a meeting with representatives of Confapa, Federation of Neighborhood Associations, Local Youth Council, trade associations Triangle, Barrio del Carmen, and Central District, and Local Police Association Street graffiti Museum agree to the amendment of the Ordinance regarding street cleaning sanctions on those who draw graffiti on walls and furniture.

So, all these groups will now have a week to offer their suggestions based on a draft document which has provided the possibility of commutation of the financial penalty to draw a painting by cleaning only offered to those who do so at a time first.

This measure, if voluntary, will need parental permission in the case of offenders are minors.

Similarly, the alternative measure will be compatible with daily activities of the offender and never will make it impossible for assistance to the school.

In this document, the draft states that the fine of 150 euros will be switchable for eight hours of work on behalf of the community.

In the event that is under 16 years, the workday may not exceed four hours, while if it is older than this limit is eight hours of work.

The type of work to be done is cleaning the graffiti itself, but in the event that, by their features or products to use, it is not possible, the offender will have to perform cleanup tasks such as cleaning the streets of other painted green areas at the time of leaf fall of paper with a sponge and water or stickers.

The participating groups have defined this change as "interesting", "good measure" or "very appropriate", indicating that it is desirable to inform the schools of this amendment and it would be appropriate to enable placeholders for young graffiti artists to develop their artistic creativity .
