Conducted 250 cataract surgeries, 2,000 consultations and treatments for eye diseases and 1,000 rankings of view
Twenty-three professionals from all over Spain will travel to Togo to participate in a project of Blue in Action to improve the ocular health of the population of the region of Kara.
The NGO has already sent to Togo in late 2010, a Motor Carrier Hospital consists of a truck operating room, two consulting rooms, two medical transport vehicles and various equipment-art ophthalmology Hospital named Ciudad de Murcia.
At the hospital ophthalmology consult and operations, as the population of this area suffers from serious eye diseases and in the country this specialty care is virtually nonexistent.
The aim of this first campaign is set 250 cataract surgeries, 2,000 consultations and treatments of diseases such as trachoma, river blindness, conjunctivitis, etc.
and 1,000 gradations with the delivery of corrective glasses.
The expedition, which will work in Togo from January 29 until 19 February this year, consists of five are surgeons, ophthalmologists, ophthalmology specialist health 6, 1 anesthetist, 1 optical, 7 responsible for transport and logistics and a television recording equipment consists of two people.
This initiative has the support of the Department of Employment, Civil Protection and Development Cooperation, who heads Beatriz Hontoria.
Investment in this project was € 300,000, made possible by the cooperation of organizations like the City of Murcia, which has funded € 33,000, the Autonomous Community, with funding of € 29,000, and companies like Cajamurcia Foundation, The Caixa, Social Work CAM, IDMAR, Disfrimur and various private donations.
Blue in Action held several charity events during 2010 to raise funds for this purpose as a solidarity dinner and benefit concert Musik Murcia, which acted Second.

The NGO Action Blue, was born of the Local Police of the City of Murcia in 2000.
It is geared towards international development cooperation and humanitarian aid.
