The City Council will give training courses for workers in the future Corvera Airport (21/01/2011)

The Mayor and the Director of Education, Training and Employment this morning signed the cooperation agreement which governs the procedure

Murcia City Council and the Regional Government have launched the process that will train about a thousand unemployed in job profiles that will require future Corvera International Airport.

Of these, 575 will be hired and the rest will be made available to the concessionaire, Aeromur, to meet future needs.

With this objective, the mayor, Miguel Angel House, and President of the Regional Employment Service and Training, Constantine Sotoca, this morning signed a collaboration agreement regulates the conditions for training, guidance and mediation of workers who serve in the aerodrome.

The agreement is based on common interest to promote specific training courses and qualifications aimed at people likely to be employed, ensuring that they will acquire the level of professional competence necessary to ensure the normal operation of the airport.

Mayor House has stressed the importance of carrying out these training activities which are expected to conclude with "the recruitment of unemployed Murcia, an effort which is always important but it is even more powerful in times of crisis like the present."

In this regard, the Chamber noted that one can not overlook the efforts made by the Administration in promoting the regional economy through the implementation of major investment. "

The training offer includes the following specialties:

- CGA Technical Operations

- Technical maintenance of CGA

- Ramp Service Agent

- Airport Services Agent

- Environment international airport and Murcia airport

- Cleaning Services Airport

- Airport Security.

The Regional Employment Service and Training (SEF) will make the selection of students from seeking employment, with special attention to residents in towns directly affected by the aerodrome, such as Los Martínez del Puerto, Corvera or Valladolises.

The registration period is open until 10 February.

Municipal Employment Service immediately begin the process of recruitment of the 15 courses, which may be provided from next spring and should be completed in November.

Interested parties who are resident in Murcia, please contact to request information from the Local Development Agency (Street Azarbe paper).

The entire process will take about 11 months and will cost 575,000 euros, provided by the SEF and 80% financed by the European Social Fund.
