The PSOE reminds all immigrants who have until the 25th of January to continue to be in the electoral roll to participate in the upcoming vote in the forthcoming municipal elections of May 22, the first in which they can exercise their right to voting citizens of foreign origin.

Secretary of Coordination of Municipal Executive, Judith Andrea Garri, explains that socialist activists are canvassing businesses run by immigrants in the neighborhoods and districts of Murcia with greater presence of foreign citizens to inform them of the steps that have to do to vote in upcoming elections.

They are also going every weekend to La Fica to disseminate information among hundreds of immigrants who gather there on a stand built specifically for this campaign.

Garrie recalled that in the next elections open to all citizens of European Union countries and those member countries that have signed reciprocal agreements with Spain, such as, Ecuador, Colombia, Chile, Peru, Paraguay, Bolivia, Norway , Iceland and New Zealand.

All citizens in the countries listed above, must apply for registration on the electoral roll from the December 1, 2010 until January 25, 2011.

Citizens of EU countries can register at any time prior to closing the electoral roll, which is expected in early April.
