The Youth Council of the City of Murcia, who heads María Dolores Sánchez, hosted for the first time a young volunteer with visual disabilities work at the Civic Center Area La Nave Young.

This project is part of the European Voluntary Service, Youth in Action Programme of the European Commission, the Department has been developing for 14 years.

The Murcia start volunteering on February 1, working in the organization Liege Santé Nord-Sud in development cooperation projects with Africa, support for computer classes to Franco-African support for cultural activities, workshops on health and raising awareness on visual impairment as collecting glasses for international solidarity projects.

A DVD captures the experiences

María Dolores Sánchez presented the DVD 'Information and Active Citizenship, a strategy for inclusion of people with fewer opportunities', summary of the project financed with the same title as the European Commission to the City and is a manual of methodology for setting Progress Youth Information Services as a strategy for inclusion of young people with sensory disabilities.

The publication brings together the documents, presentations and conclusions of the project that involved youth with disabilities and leaders of organizations of persons with disabilities and Youth Information Centres Murcia, Argentina, Colombia, Ecuador, France, Italy, Mexico and Portugal.

The result of this project was the adaptation of youth information services for young people with sensory disabilities, the involvement of this group of youth centers and youth information services and strengthening its partnerships
