The Visitor Center offers San Antonio el Pobre ecotourism routes and children's workshops (17/01/2011)

The aim of the Department María Isabel Valcárcel directing is to show the natural, cultural and traditions of the municipality

The Visitor Center gives San Antonio the Poor ecotourism routes and children's workshops in nature.

Events take place during the months of February, March and April and is already open enrollment period.

The Department of Tourism, Maria Isabel Valcárcel directing, and aims to raise awareness of the rich natural, cultural and traditions of the municipality.

The routes are planned:

"The last hermit.

February 6, very easy, 2-3 hours.

From San Antonio El Pobre the route goes along the Rambla del Sordo to the caves where the first hermits lived in La Luz.

"The path of the Sanctuaries.

February 20, very easy, 2-3 hours.

After visiting the Sanctuary of Fuensanta path leads visitors to the Monastery of Light, the Iberian Sanctuary of San Antonio Light and the Poor.

Bird-watching.

March 6, very easy, 2-3 hours.

A specialized guide will accompany participants on the path of the birds and the environment of the Chapel of the Poor San Antonio to see the different species of birds.

"Medicinal plants of our forests.

March 27, very easy, 2-3 hours.

Interesting walking tour accompanied by a specialist who helps to know the properties of some plants found in the nearby mountains and used since antiquity with palliative or curative purposes.

All these routes have their starting point at 9.30 pm in the Square of Spain.

A bus will take participants to the starting point of each route.

The registration fee is 5 euros for adults and 3 for those under 12 years.

Children's workshops are:

"Climbing for children.

February 5 and April 2 from 10am to 13 hours.

For children 6 to 12 years.

The Visitor Centre has in its surroundings with small walls where children can take their first step in vertical, develop balance and improve your fitness.

"Path of the hermits.

March 12, in schedule 10 to 13 hours.

For children 7 to 10 years.

It's a fun course that will show children the teachings of the ascetics with a small tour of the surroundings of the chapel with the participation of actors who recreate the life of the hermit who lived in the mountains.

"The day of silk in San Antonio.

April 9, 10 to 113 hours.

For children between 7 and 10 years.

Children bring to the shrine traditionally bred worms when spring arrives.

When visiting San Antonio know his history and the crucial importance that silk was years in the prosperity of Murcia.

The registration fee is 3 euros.

Parents should take children to the Ermita de San Antonio el Pobre for the start of the activity.
