The University of Alcalá de Henares get the special prize of the contest Archimedes (25/11/2010)

The University of Alcalá de Henares has achieved 30,000 euros Special Prize Contest IX Archimedes, being the institution with the largest number of works selected for the finals of this competition which was held this week at the University of Murcia with participation of 16 universities in Spain.

The Archimedes University Competition, organized by the University Policy Department, aims to foster the spirit of research of university students by awarding prizes for research papers.

In this edition of 37 prizes have been distributed among the 25 finalists, 29 students, selected projects in turn by a group of experts from the 129 submitted by 311 students, from 39 Spanish universities, who attended the announcement of this year.

The University of Murcia has granted, in its role as host, a special prize to one of the research award that is attached to those granted by other institutions that have participated in organizing the event: National Research Council, Group Santander, Fundación Orange and Astrazeneca Foundation.

At the awards ceremony for runners and held in the Chamber of Arts, attended by, among others, the rector of the University of Murcia, José Antonio Cobacho, and the general director of University Policy, Ministry of Education, Juan José Moreno.
