A design competition searches for the design of the craft market stalls in the garden of Salitre The project will be compatible with sustainable development of the city, and to respect the urban space and existing trees. (24/11/2010)

In order to reorganize the hawking transitional market that is currently in the Paseo del Malecon, the city of Murcia will hold a competition of ideas with the aim of selecting a design proposal module or booth will be installed in Salitre garden, but always retaining the elements of the environment.

These modules up to a total of 30, will host the street stalls under appropriate conditions and appropriate, consistent with the sustainable development of the city, being sensitive to the recognition of this type of sale as an element of culture and tradition Murcia , generating new urban spaces and uses that promote worked, attracting the general public and the market economy.

The City Council wants to carry out this project with the close collaboration of the College of Architects of the Murcia region for professionals to contribute their ideas or proposals, according to the criteria set down in the rules of competition.

Furthermore, citizens of the environment may also participate in a special way, in preparing the final draft.

Murcia City Council will be responsible for assuming the commitment to provide financially for the awards set out in the bases.

This competition is open, so that addresses both local, regional and national levels, preserving the principle of anonymity in presentation and in the evaluation of proposals.

The design of the modules must be submitted in a plant of between 6 and 6.5 square meters and 2.5 meters maximum height.

Should be noted that the total number of modules to install is 30 at most, so it may be asymmetrical.

Valuation

Assess quality of design, image module, installation conditions in the environment, durability, ease and speed of assembly and disassembly as well as the economic cost of implementation.

To this end, the economic cost of implementation with no added cost in no case exceed 3,500 euros.

The awards are:

- First prize: 8,000 euros.

VAT inclusive fees include basic design and implementation.

- Two second prizes: One thousand euros for each of them with a certificate.
