HUERMUR considered absolutely necessary to involve experts and university researchers in the activities to be carried out in the Garden and its network of irrigation and in the next draft of the Comprehensive Plan Huerta de Murcia which undertook the President Valcárcel.

HUERMUR STATEMENT BY THE PRESIDENT OF THE ACT OF SIGNING THE CONVENTION.
Good morning.
As president of the Association for the Conservation of Huerta de Murcia, HUERMUR, I thank the university community and its rector for signing this collaboration agreement.
HUERMUR is a partnership between water users and citizens concerned about the destruction and degradation that has suffered the garden of Murcia.
We believe it is possible and necessary coexistence between the city and its surroundings, being a positive for economic activity and job creation in a truly sustainable development.
For this, one of our pillars has been to encourage the union of all persons and institutions concerned with the conservation and enhancement of the agricultural area identification sign of the municipality and the Region of Murcia.
Like the European Landscape Convention, ratified by Spain, we are "convinced that the landscape is a key element of individual and social welfare, and that their protection, management and planning entail rights and responsibilities for all", to that future generations can continue enjoying it.
