The University of Murcia inaugurated the course of gold from the Department of History of Art (19/11/2010)

The Department of Art History at the University of Murcia inaugurated the course of gold that has organized in conjunction with the celebration of the feast of Saint Eligius, patron saint of goldsmiths.

The presentation of the course, at the Museum of Fine Arts of Murcia, was in charge of the rector of Studies, Concepción Palacios, and course director, Professor Jesús Rivas.

Following the inaugural conference of the jeweler Jose Joaquin del Campo, followed by Elena Conde Guerri on imperial pomp and jewelry and of Jesus himself and Manuel Pérez Sánchez Rivas, who analyzed the silver of the cathedrals.

On Monday, day 22, continue the course with the lectures of professor at the University of Murcia Maria Milagros Ros, Professor, University of Palermo, Maria Concetta Di Natale and Kirstin Kennedy, Victoria and Albert Museum in London, who will speak on the production of silver in the ancient world, the Sicilian coral and eighteenth-century English silver, respectively.

These lectures will begin at 16:00 pm in the auditorium of the Museum said.
