Workshop on Road Safety and Sustainability to train secondary students in the municipality (16/11/2010)

About 340 pupils in the municipality participate in a training campaign in Road Safety and Sustainability is launching the Department of Education and Youth, directed by María Dolores Sánchez, together with RACE.

The aim is to promote safe attitudes and behaviors regarding self-protection systems in the vehicle and car use under the criteria of sustainability.

The activity consists of four workshops of 15 minutes each, in which participants will work on:

Passive safety in the vehicle.

It will address what we mean by passive vehicle safety, the importance of proper posture in case of accident, the importance of seat belts and the correct use of it, and headrest.

A simulator will allow students to feel what happens if there is a crash at 30 km / h.

Child Safety: Why are necessary safety seats, laws and regulation of their use, types depending on the kilos, correct them and location and type of anchor.

?

Risks associated with alcohol consumption.

How does the alcohol in the body, its effects, alcohol and driving, myths and realities, etc.

Goggles simulate the effects of alcohol on our body.

Classroom Security and Sustainability.

The seat belt, alcohol, CO2, key points for greener motoring, vehicle and efficient driving.

Students may use virtual driving simulators.

This initiative is aimed at secondary school students from schools in the county, in the morning, and evening activities will be free for all ages, especially adults.

Form-t program RACE, is part of the objectives of the European Charter for Road Safety to assist in reducing road deaths.

Young people between 15 and 24 account for 11% of the Spanish population, this age group, according to the DGT, representing 10% of drivers and accounts for 18% of fatalities in traffic and 22% of serious injuries.

The best tool is prevention and this requires a culture and general road safety education among young people before they are drivers, as pedestrians or passengers.

The purpose of this activity is to transmit and teach a key message: that a proper conduct of the car is lowered significantly the risk of injury.

Furthermore, it emphasizes that alcohol and driving are incompatible, that green cars reduce emissions to the environment and if we are responsible for helping to improve our planet.

Students and the general public may go to the Chinese Garden, where tents have been installed in this initiative, 17, 18 and 19 November.
