Ramón Gaya Museum is hosting a new 'extraposition', dubbed the Cohen collection Wesselmann by its creator, artist Miguel Fructuoso.
The exhibition, which will be open until January 6, includes a dozen charcoal drawings, watercolors and sketches with which honors Fructuoso great artists of the European vanguard.
As shown in the catalog of this 'extraposition' "Cohen-library Wesselmann is known in the art world as a review of major historical avant-garde, but also should be read in correspondence with the Jewish Intelligentsia who set much of the Central European culture during the first half of the twentieth century. "
You added that "the journey of formation of this collection are particularly important discussions with Ramón Gaya to dramatize the dilemma of all artists between classicism and modernity. In this exhibition they meet again two opposite stories, but common experience of a moment decision, discussing the works in the Museo Ramón Gaya with those belonging to the Cohen-Wesselmann Foundation in Basel, which has lent several drawings showing the major emerging art movements. "
