More than 300 students from the UCAM accompany Benedict XVI in Santiago de Compostela and Barcelona (29/10/2010)

San Antonio Catholic University (UCAM), has organized pilgrimage paths to Santiago de Compostela and Barcelona during the forthcoming visit of His Holiness Pope Benedict XVI to Spain, which will take place on 6 and 7 November.

The director of the Department of Humanities and Religious of the UCAM, and coordinator of the activity, Juana Hernández Cerón, stands out among the activities involving young people, a visit to Monte del Gozo, the traditional visit to the Apostle and participation in Eucharist that Benedict XVI held in Santiago and Barcelona, to mark the Jacobean and the consecration of the temple of the Sagrada Familia.

The Vice Chancellor of University Extension of the UCAM, Antonio Alcaraz, highlighted the great success demonstrated by the students of the University in relation to this initiative, as reflected in the more than 300 registrations completed to date.

Alcaraz was extremely satisfied and stressed the importance for students of the University is actively involved in these activities, enabling them to see first-hand experience to accompany Benedict XVI and vibrating with this type of event.

"The coexistence massive youth from different regions, races and nationalities around the Pope, made possible by the proactive involvement of the various dioceses involved in organizing the visit, allows them to perceive and appreciate the universality of the Church" he said.

For its part, Juana Hernandez, said that this pilgrimage will allow thousands of young people joining the pilgrim Pope in St James's appointment, a symbol of faith in Spain.
