26 competing proposals in the Business Project Competition Today, the jury met for the first time in November and will interview all candidates (29/10/2010)

26 proposals to start a business was submitted to the XVIII edition of the Business Project Competition.

The objective of this contest is to promote entrepreneurship, financial support and scholarships for training, rewarding innovative projects that create jobs, says the City Council for Employment, Civil Protection and Development Cooperation, Beatriz Hontoria.

The jury for this event has gathered this morning for the first time to see the projects submitted.

During the month of November, held personal interviews with all candidates to explain and defend their proposals.

The jury is made by Councilwoman Employment Hontoria Beatriz, who is president, and representatives of the Municipal Group Socialist Municipal Group of IU, CROEM, Amusal, Chamber of Commerce, Ucomur, Aje, CCOO, UGT, Fundación Universidad Empresa, OMEP, Asaja, the first awarded last year and a technician from the Department of Employment.

The City will provide 40,000 euros in prize money, which will be allocated exclusively to the implementation or expansion of business project.

The first prize is worth a maximum of 20,000 euros, or more than 10% of the total expenditure required for the formation of the company during the first year and a scholarship of 3,600 euros to attend the Master Course in Business ( MBA) from the University-Enterprise.

The second prize is a maximum of 13,000 euros, or a maximum of 4% of total expenditure required for the formation of the company during the first year and a scholarship of 1,500 euros for the current Small Business Management-University Foundation company.

The third prize is worth 7,000 euros, or up to 2% of total expenditure required for the formation of the company during the first year. The jury may vary the amounts of the awards, in terms of winning business plans.

The jury will consider the level of business plan development, difficulty, rather than implementation, innovation, job creation, training developer, work experience / professional knowledge of the product / market, knowledge of the activities / processes and motivation.

Since 1995 there have been 286 business projects, 157 proposals have been awarded and granted a total of 607,957 euros in prize money.
