San Antonio Catholic University (UCAM) is the headquarters of the XV Conference of the Society of Geriatrics and Gerontology Murcia held today and tomorrow in the Temple of Los Jeronimos.
The symposium aims to address health care in the residential environment through multi-table discussions, lectures and workshops.
It should be noted, among the many experts in Geriatrics involved in the conference, a specialist in geriatrics and medical founder of the Spanish Society of Medical Homes, José Manuel Reuss.

The presentation of the conference has involved the vice president of the Society of Geriatrics and Gerontology Murcia, Ines Gil, along with members of the UCAM: the Dean's Degree in Psychology, Francisco Moya, the dean of the Faculty of Science Health, Physical Education and Sport, Andrés Martínez-Almagro, and Director of Degree in Occupational Therapy, M ª Angeles Jiménez.
The XV Conference of the Society of Geriatrics and Gerontology Murcia have started this morning with a lecture by the director of the Central Unit of Anatomy, Andrés Martínez-Almagro, on the awareness and prevention of osteoporosis.
The UCAM professor, stated that "osteoporosis is a real disease, not an effect of age."
The sessions will be held round tables, conferences and workshops to deepen, among other things, health, quality of life and new technologies in old age; infections in the residential environment, nutritional recommendations residences; behavioral problems in nursing; cognitive stimulation from occupational therapy, and basic activities of daily living.
Morning from 9.00 in the Temple, will be held the second and final day of the symposium on geriatrics and gerontology.
