Odaiko concert, the great ancient tradition of Japanese drums, will be the prelude to the 2010 edition of Murcia rolled up, the lounge of Manga in Murcia, which takes place this year between 12 and 14 November.
The concert will be held tomorrow, Wednesday, Oct. 20 at the Auditorium of the University of Murcia, and attendance is free.
The o-Daiko is a voluminous variety of traditional Japanese drum, or taiko.
Its use is a ritual from Buddhism dates back over a thousand years.
Although the privilege of playing this instrument was traditionally reserved for men, Hono-o-Daiko, the percussion group that acts morning in the auditorium (Hono-o-Daiko, literally means 'the drum called') are women.
JIGE Akemi, Chieko Kinoshita, Mizue Yamada and Yuna Higasikawa, the performers of the group are four of the most renowned drummers in Japan.
Moving on stage with different utensils hitting the giant drum membranes, while transmitting their emotions (joy, sorrow, anger, jealousy) through sound, rhythm and dance to bring to their movements.
