The Fire Station Murcia is renewed to adapt to changing times. (16/10/2010)

A more effective and more rapid response is the aim it pursues the strategic plan of the fire service of Murcia.

The Board of Control of the fire service will experience a total renovation to modernize the service and be adapted to the technology needs to be incorporated soon.

To achieve this goal, the City Council has given its approval to the provisional award of the supply of equipment for the Board of Emergency Management and Fire Operations Coordinator for the company "Engineering Technology for Advanced Systems and Telecommunication Services", amounting of 296,820 euros.

If the update date of the fire service has focused on endowments of more vehicles and now it is the turn to the physical space which will house the new technological tools to support each operation.

The first of the improvements introduced in the Fire Station is the building space will be located in the new control systems.

Thus, it will create a new emergency room management and operational coordination of Fire that will seat four operators - currently there is only room for two-and a supervisor.

It also will enable this room a rest area for breaks and rest periods for operators, according to recommendations by the Law on Prevention of Occupational Hazards and a Situation Room for 8 people, in anticipation of the hold strategic meetings with a major emergency.

A server room to house all technological and computing infrastructure complete this project.

All units of this new hall will be located on the ground floor of Fire Station Infante Juan Manuel, located on Avenida San Juan de la Cruz.

Once you have created this new space, the fire service will continue to introduce innovations in order to have the most innovative technologies to provide the best possible allocations.

Thus, the control room complete with a digital integrator of communications, compared to current analog system, including telephone lines, radio and computer system and other mechanisms whose development is currently limited.

This will provide new control and display systems to be located on the staff and fleet of vehicles via GPS mapping of the municipality level to win in coordination, effectiveness and safety.

Also be integrated and traffic cameras installed in fire trucks to provide real-time all available information.
