Vítor Faverani (CB Murcia): "We are stepping up in defense" (13/10/2010)

El CB Murcia returned to the Palace of Sports to play the game for Week number three in the championship against Palencia.

The Luis Guil want to keep adding to the locker wins, beating a rival whose aim is to fight against relegation.

The Palencia base their game on defense and are able to embarrass the top teams.

But Vítor Faverani know where is the key to the game.

The Brazilian power forward appeals to the good work being done in Orense, especially on defense.

"In basketball the most important thing is to defend well. I think we are stepping up on defense. We played a tough game away from home, and I hope to maintain the level at the Palacio de los Deportes."

In this league, you have to have respect for every opponent.

"If we concentrate, we played with no desire or are soft on defense, they put 20 or 30 points in a quarter and we win the game. But it sure will be fine, and without fear anything."

Faverani comments

For this meeting there will be a serious lack in the area.

Taj Gray, who was injured last Friday against Orense, suffered a partially torn medial collateral ligament of the knee, and will be sidelined 6 to 8 weeks.

To Faverani, "short of a partner is always bad news. Is less aid for training and matches. But we are we are and we have to push forward despite difficulties."

In just two days of competition we have seen some surprises.

In the Adecco Oro is very equal, and anybody can beat anybody.

Corner Clinics boot Axarquia was what most surprised the Brazilian.

"It's a team that has two wins and no losses. A team that is very strong at home but do not expect that would also add. It is what I is surprising. A small team can be up there."
