"Today is a day dear to recognize the work of members of the Guardia Civil to ensure the safety of all Murcia," said the mayor, Miguel Angel House, moments before the opening ceremony of awards on the occasion of the feast of Our Lady of Pilar, patroness of the Body.
Chamber has also noted that residents of the municipality, especially in Torreagüera and Sangonera La Verde, take many years waiting for the construction of new barracks.
Regarding the former, the Mayor signed with the Ministry of Interior an agreement for the construction of a new Civil Guard barracks, replacing the existing facilities no longer meet the optimum conditions.
To this end, he sold a plot of 2,800 m2 property of the Council, which was considered particularly suitable location given its proximity to the secondary school.
This is a site located in a commercial area that is already fully urbanized.
For Sangonera La Verde, there is also a commitment to build the new units on the ground that also was hired by the city of Murcia for this purpose.
