Begins Initial Vocational Training classes for 154 students are given lessons in welding, electrical engineering facilities, cooking, hairdressing, beauty, computers, plumbing and air conditioning and vehicle maintenance (09/10/2010)

On Monday, 154 students began classes in the municipality in Initial Vocational Training Program, organized by the municipality of Murcia.

Students will be trained in the centers that the Department of Employment, headed Beatriz Hontoria, has in the FICA (Murcia) and the Green Sangonera.

This course has enrolled 122 boys and 32 girls, aged between 16 and 17, who have dropped out in 2 º and 3 º ESO, 92 and 59 living in districts in the capital.

The City provides the following specialties:

- Auxiliary Operations Facilities Electrical and Communications

- Welding Auxiliary Operations - 2 groups

- Kitchen Auxiliary Services

- Auxiliary Services Hairdressing

- Aesthetic Services Assistants

- Computer Support Services

- Air-conditioning Plumbing Operations - 2 groups

- Auxiliary Operations Vehicle Maintenance - 2 groups

Students who pass the training be done in the months of May and June to 150 hours of work experience in companies in the municipality of Murcia, with which the council has signed cooperation agreements.

The Initial Vocational Training Program, regulated by the Organic Law of Education, are an alternative training for students who have not completed secondary education (ESO).

The goal of these programs is to enable all students to achieve professional competences of a Level 1 qualification than those in the National Catalogue of Professional Qualifications, enabling a successful job placement and securing of Secondary Education, who would interested in further study.

Workshop Professional mode, which is provided by the city of Murcia, with preference given to young people most in need of job placement, youth at risk of social exclusion and employability difficulties arising from school failure.

The Ministry of Education, Training and Employment has provided this project with a grant of 476,296 euros for the recruitment of teachers, and the city of Murcia provide facilities, materials, workshop supplies, clothing and protective equipment, risk labor.

In June, when the program ends, may choose to join the workforce or enrolling in secondary schools to study the modules in the 2nd degree of professional qualification that will lead them to obtain the Diploma in ESO, while learning a profession.
