Action Blue eye diseases will of the people of Togo through a mobile hospital financed by the city of Murcia infrastructure, equipped with modern medical equipment, will attend graduation pharmacological and 500 consultations daily and 30 surgeries. (01/10/2010)

The facility has an operational capacity for 500 consultations daily with drug treatment and graduation and to perform 30 surgeries.

For that it has a consultation room, anesthesia room, preoperative, operating room and store and has two support vehicles traveling consultations conducted in villages and transported to the sick in need of surgery to the hospital.

The hospital has modern equipment for consultation, anesthesia, and surgical sterilization, which will carry out cataract operations with intraocular lens phacoemulsificator.

The City of Murcia is the largest external financier of medical vehicle, which also worked CajaMurcia, CAM and Caixa.

The Autonomous Community, for its part, intends to contribute to the financing of the expeditions.

Also in September, held a charity dinner and concert to raise allowed more than 2,500 euros.

The vehicle, which will remain throughout the weekend in Santo Domingo, will move first to Togo, which will assist in the next two years, then also visit Benin, Burkina Faso and Mali.

Blue's work in action in Africa has been very intense in the last three years in Togo, where he has developed a project to improve the ocular health of the population that has allowed restoring sight to over 400 blind people, and to address to 4,000 patients with eye diseases.

Experience has played a pivotal time when thinking about creating a trucking health infrastructure in order to be able to take such care to those living in rural areas and are especially needed.

In Togo there is virtually no eye care and its climatic and hygienic conditions that have caused large numbers of people affected by eye diseases.

Ten years and 37 cooperation projects

Blue NGO ActionAid, founded in 2000 within the Local Police in Murcia, is aimed at involvement in development cooperation and humanitarian assistance in the field of health, education and building infrastructure.

Result of this work has been carried out 37 cooperation projects in different countries such as Togo, Burkina Faso, Cameroon, Mali, Mauritania, Morocco, Peru, Western Sahara, Benin, etc.

Were also carried out several projects to help disadvantaged groups in Murcia and have promoted numerous campaigns and actions in the region to promote education and social awareness of development cooperation.

Among the 37 projects include the construction of a health center in the Moroccan Sahara, two intervention projects in ophthalmology in northern Togo, distributing more than 110 articulated beds for people with physical disabilities in the Region of Murcia and without economic possibilities to acquire and support education and literacy of adults in 50 villages of the Moroccan Sahara and High Atlas.
