The possible risk of falling branches of two bananas in the regressive phase causes its logging were located in the Garden of Floridablanca (01/10/2010)

Have completed their life and therefore the Parks and Gardens has done this morning felling.

Two plane trees (Platanus x acerifolia) situated in the Floridablanca gardens in front of the Iglesia del Carmen and across from the old cinemas, showed clear signs that were being regressive, ie, that it had completed its life cycle estimated at just over 160 years.

In fact, the council technicians spent months continuously monitoring the existing five bananas in the garden to act at the slightest symptom of decay and deterioration.

In this way, it was necessary to urgently cut two of these trees since they have discoloration, peeling, cavities, cracks, signs of dead wood and fungal attacks, which turned them into "dangerous and unpredictable trees."

Thus, in his cups it was creating a lot of dead wood with a high probability of falling branches, which has led to its logging, because of their state, their large size and because it is in an area with heavy pedestrian and road traffic .

The Department of Environment and Urban Quality plant will soon be two bananas to replace them.
