A doctoral dissertation at the University of Murcia by Maria del Pilar Truchado Gambao highlighted the "curative powers" of honey because, among other factors, antimicrobial capacity.
The study author has obtained excellent cum laude, shown in the same antimicrobial activity with this product has also a high ability to inhibit bacterial communication.
The research also analyzes the quality of honey as the flower used by bees and concludes that "the chestnut had a higher anti-pathogen activity."
The study concludes that "the honey could play a very important ingredient in antimicrobial and anti-pathogen in the development of new products."
The dissertation was directed by professors Ana Francisco Tomas Barberan and Allende Prieto.
