A study by the University of Murcia calls for better transport infrastructure for the promotion of tourism (31/08/2010)

The need for tourism planning policies should, in conjunction with this activity, land and transport infrastructure is one of the conclusions of the study by Professor of the School of Tourism at the University of Murcia Mercedes Escriche Millán.

For Escriche Millán, "we must work towards guiding principles to ensure that between transport, tourism and territory can generate positive synergies that benefit their optimal development."

The research, published in the journal "Grand Tour", published by the university said, states that "the management of a territory which aims to achieve the functionality required to develop a tourism strategy in the overall planning to exploit the synergies present in that space. "

Professor notes that "since ancient times, the most powerful people-Persians, Babylonians, Egyptians, Romans ... - have aspired to own extensive road networks, complete and best quality, the quality and abundance of capital are indicators expressive road power and wealth of a country. "

The study also called for the need to choose a sustainable and responsible tourism which respects the environment and prevent degradation of natural resources.
