The University of Murcia, through the Faculty of Education and the Ministry of Social Policy, Women and Immigration made an intervention plan that promotes intergenerational, inter alia, the values of participation, equal interaction and interdependence between generations.
The agreement through which it will undertake this project points out that this joint effort is to achieve a life full of people, without discrimination because of age "and enabling them to acquire knowledge, habits, skills and abilities of those" .
The project envisages the setting up community centers for seniors sociocommunity interaction activities, such as cafes, gatherings, debates, roundtables and case.
Also in the College of Education activities will be "to strengthen the university students knowledge about older people."
Also there will be an Intergenerational Day as a meeting place for seniors and college.
The Department of Theory and History of Education will be in charge of boosting the number of proceedings under the cooperation agreement signed between the University and the said Ministry.
The agreement will extend its effects until the end of the academic year 2010-2011
